Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SpeechType application and website ("Service") operated by SpeechType ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Account

You must create an account to use SpeechType. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. Service Description

SpeechType is a desktop voice transcription application that converts speech to text in real time. The Service supports multiple languages and works across applications on your computer via a global hotkey.

3. Plans and Billing

• Free plan — 30 minutes of transcription per month at no charge.
• Pro plan — 3,000 transcription minutes per month, available as a monthly or yearly subscription.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Circumvent usage limits or access controls
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Transmit malicious code or interfere with the Service

5. Intellectual Property

The SpeechType application, website, brand, and all related materials are owned by us. Your transcription output belongs to you. We claim no ownership over the text you produce using the Service.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Audio is processed in real time by third-party speech recognition providers and is not stored by us.

7. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Pricing changes will not affect your current billing period.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SpeechType operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
